The Two-card Tarot Spread

If you are in a place of learning how to relate the cards to one another, the two-card tarot spread is a perfect anytime practice. This spread not only provides insight, but also builds connections between you and the cards in a deeper way than a one-card pull can.

It is important to note that my relationship to tarot is as a self-reflection tool, and not as something that tells the future. I pull cards and interpret their meanings to provide narrative to the things I am working through. Each archetype points my attention in a particular direction and draws my attention inward, much like a journal prompt would.

A simple one card pull will give you one facet to ponder, but two cards will give a relational image. You can think of the first card as The Situation and the second card as The Information.

You don’t have to have a specific query each time you draw. Most times, my intention as I read is “what is there for me to know today?” And that is enough.

Send me a note if you’ve got questions, or if this lands for you.
